“Wood belongs in furniture and fireplaces” AND got a HUGE laugh when I retoldĬapt. Still, a great bunch of folks and they didn't even lynch me. Great fun, midst all that wood, getting glares and stares from all the "Woodies".lol! The annual TAO Pope & Young Shoot, held this year in Brownsville.
Yesterday, I screwed on some Phantom 125 grn. Tweak rest and nock point and I was done. Trial shots got me to a 30" arrow, net weight 400 grns.

I started with a full length bare shaft Easton Epic 400 with a 125 grn. String, added a Springy and some wool wisps. Shimmed the pockets with some 1/8 inch flat hard rubber stock, twisted up a new Mail before I could finish setting the bow up. Well.after the bathroom wall test, I had to wait for some stuff to come in the Tomorrow I'll caulk up the hole while she's at work and maybe she'll never figure it out. Stealthily I pulled the arrow on through and tipped toed back to the bedroom. She slept on, so I crept to the rear of the house, to the guest bath, where I found the fieldtipped arrow protruding through the shower surround with about half of the fletching protruding.
She's a notoriously light sleeper and in the quiet house it sounded like a gun shot. Wife had bedded down hours earlier and I listened with trepidation for noise of her stirring.
When I finished, of course I was dying to pull it and even though the hour was late, I put a string on, braced it, nocked an arrow and standing in front of the mirror in the master bath, drew it back for the first time and the damn thing went off.lol!Īrrow disappeared through the bathroom wall headed toward the back of the house! This evening I spent a couple hours cobbling a set of 60# Quinn limbs onto a Black Bear riser. Well.I'm getting more profane all the time, hangin' around this site.lol!
